Based on our experience:
1. Durability Consideration: To reduce the frequency of warranty claims, the manufacturer intentionally designs the LED fog lights with very low power, typically less than 10 watts, and sometimes even as low as 5 watts. While this approach is highly environmentally friendly and energy-efficient, it results in poor actual brightness when illuminated, even think that it is just a decoration.
2. Cost Consideration: Achieving higher brightness requires investing in better heat dissipation, LED chips, and even adding cooling fans. However, when you dismantle the original manufacturer LED modules, you'll find that the factory has opted for a simple heat dissipation structure to save costs.
In summary, the reason the original LED fog lights appear so dim is primarily due to considerations of durability and cost-efficiency. However, if you desire improved illumination for nighttime driving, upgrading to TF1 yellow fog lights may be a wise choice, and we'll delve deeper into this upgrade option in our upcoming content.
Currently, TF1 is only compatible with specific light fixtures with a professional specification called L1B (which can be ignored because it's not an official international standard yet). Essentially, this specification is a new base specification shared by Toyota and Honda. The light fixtures that use this specification are very small in size and have a somewhat fisheye-like appearance. You can visually determine if a light fixture can be used by examining its appearance. Please refer to the following images:
